Stand directly in front of one face of the gridded cube box
Make sure you can see the sculpture clearly through the grid
Start at the Center
Find square C3 (the center square) on the grid in front of you
Look at what part of the sculpture appears in this square
Draw EXACTLY what you see in square C3 on the corresponding face of your unfolded cube template
Work Outward
Move to the squares surrounding C3 (B3, C2, D3, C4)
Draw only the shapes and lines you see in each individual square
Continue outward until you’ve completed all squares for this face
Move to a New Viewpoint
Walk around to stand directly in front of another face of the cube
Repeat steps 2-3 for this new face, drawing what you see on another face of your unfolded cube template
Complete All Marked Viewpoints
Continue the process until you’ve drawn the sculpture from all marked positions
Remember to draw only what you actually see in each square, not what you think should be there
Cubist Challenge Box
In the final square (labeled “Cubist Challenge Box”), create ONE drawing that combines elements from DIFFERENT viewpoints
For example: include the head as seen from the front, the torso as seen from the side, and an arm as seen from above
This is your cubist interpretation showing multiple perspectives at once!
Remember: True cubist artists like Picasso and Braque showed objects from multiple viewpoints simultaneously. Your challenge is to create a new way of seeing that combines different perspectives into one impossible but revealing view!
